Options Panel の "Box Analyzer Masker" ページの数値窓にマスク日数を入力します（下図）。
マスク設定とは、最適化を行わない期間の設定を意味します。すべての期間を最適化するのではなく、マスクした期間を除いて最適化をするわけです。
期間はつぎの三通りの方法で規定することができます。
１． ％（パーセンテージ）による方法: たとえば最終１５％とすると、分析期間の最新の１５％の日数は最適化を除外し、それ以前の８５％の期間に対し最適化を行います。
２． 特定の日付をカレンダーから選んで、それ以前かそれ以降かを規定する方法。
３． 分析期間の日数を入力し、それ以前か以降かを規定する方法。
これら、いずれかの方法で規定し、最適化を実行すると、下図のように最適化期間から除外された期間が濃い黄色で、最適化の対象となった期間は淡い黄色で表示されます。
また、最適化対象期間の両端には垂直の点線が表示されます。最適化した期間および最適化から除外した期間いずれにも、最適化した条件での売り、買い信号が表示されることが上の図からお分かりでしょう。
加えて、点線の期間（最適化期間）の下部には、最適化の期間の始まりと終わり（この例では10-17-2000より6-28-2001で、最初の２５％と最新の２５％がマスクされたこと）と最適化期間の日数（１７８日）および、最適化により算出されたパラメータ（10,12,4）が表示されています。
なお参考までに、１０は移動平均日数、１７はＢＡ移動平均日数、４は継続日数を表しています。

Options Panel: Box Analyzer Masker
The
"BA Masker" is in the Configuration Options Panel. It allows you to define a
desired range for BA optimization.
There
are three ways of identifying a BA Mask with respect to the begin and end
points:
・% of database: Set the BA Mask as a percentage of the total
number of entries. For instance, if there are 600 entries, and you select
an ending BA Mask of 15%, then the BA Optimizer (either when
executed manually, or by the File Scan Utility) will not optimize the last
90 days.
・a calendar date: Specify a begin or end limit using a specific
date.
・# entries: Specify a fixed number of days to avoid BA optimizing.
For example, if your data file has 600 entries, and you select a beginning
BA Mask of 20 entries and an ending BA Mask of 50 entries, then
the BA Optimizer (again, either manually or by the File Scanner)
will only optimize from box #21 to box #549.
After BA Optimizing has been performed, Insider TA will color code the boxes
to depict which boxes were used in the BA optimizing:
As
shown above, boxes that were used for BA Optimizing will be drawn in a lighter
yellow. The remaining boxes -- specifically, those that were "masked"
from the optimizer -- will be shown in the traditional yellow color. This
provides an easy means of visualizing the extent of the optimized data,
and how accurately BA buy/sell tags are placed outside of the the optimized
range.
You will also see two vertical dashed lines that bound the optimized region.
Shown above, this reads as:
・
We can see that we set the begin range at 25% of the database, and the end
range also at 25% of the database. We use these numbers for illustrative
purposes only! Do not take these settings as holding any significance.
・The numbers (10,12,4) are the completed settings for the MOVAVE (10-day),
BA AVE (12-day), and BA TAG (4-consecutive moves) switches after BA-optimizing
was performed.
