ボックス･チャート Box Charting では、分析の焦点はボックスの形状と、その株価動向との関連です。勿論その目的は、株価の転換点を見付け、売買シグナルを出すことにあります。
さて、一般的に次のような傾向があることがわかっています：
人間の目はこのような｢ボックス｣の形状を見分けることが可能ですが、これを数値化し、バイアスの無い判断を行うことができる方法が、ＢＡ（ボックス･アナライザー Box Analyzer )機能です。
ＢＡ機能はボックス形状と株価のトレンド(傾向)を数量化するものです。
ＢＡ機能の設定変更は、メインスクリーンの左下部にある三種類の 数値スピナー number spinner スイッチにより行ないます。（上図参照）
このＢＡ平均 "BA AVE" 数値スピナーを、四角いボックスをクリックすることで「オン」にすると、ＢＡ機能が作動しＢＡグラフが画面に表示されます。
このＢＡタグ "BA TAG" 数値スピナーを「オン」にすると、ＢＡ売買シグナルおよび ＢＡ売買利益情報 BA Yield ＢＡグラフの下部に表示されます。
ＢＡ利益の最適化は、左図のボタン（ＢＡ利益率最適化ボタン BA
Yield Optimizer Button）をクリックすることで、自動的に実行されます。（手動ではこのページの最上図にある三種の数値スピナーの数値を変えることで実行することができます。
ＢＡ数値は相対的に比較されるべきで、例えばゼロなどのような絶対値と比較して評価することは不適切です。あるポイントのＢＡ値はその前後のポイントのＢＡ値と比較し、ＢＡラインの方向性を主体に評価します。
ＢＡ値のある方向への継続した動きは、買いや売りのシグナルを出す要素になっています。ＢＡタグ数値スピナーの数値はこの連続数を指定するものです。

Charting,
our objective focuses on analyzing box shapes and their relationship with
price movements. Ultimately, we seek to find "signals" that a
price reversal is forthcoming.
・Boxes tending to get thinner during a price advance generally signify
the stock is advancing easily.
・Boxes approaching a relatively fatter appearance reveal sluggishness,
or a slowing down, of the price advance.
Although our eyes (and cognitive ability) can distinguish fat boxes from
thin boxes, it would be beneficial to have a numerical-based analyzer function
that bypasses the visual interpretation of box shapes, and instead studies
their raw data for providing an unbiased assessment. This is the purpose
of the Box Analyzer (BA) function.
The BA Function quantifies trends in box shapes and price movements. The
resulting data points are plotted to yield the BA Function.
Activating BA Function:
The BA Function
is manipulated through the use of the three number spinner switches situated in the lower
left corner of Insider TA's main window (these switches are illustrated
above).
When
the "BA AVE" number spinner is activated, Insider TA will automatically
display a Box Analyzer, or BA, function in a separate BA Graph.
When
the "BA TAG" Number Spinner is activated, simulated buy/sell tags
will be generated, as well as a "BA yield" report in the lower left corner
of the BA Graph.
Optimizing the BA Yield can be performed either by manually
manipulating the three number spinners (MOVING AVE, BA AVE, BA TAG), or
by clicking the BA Yield Optimizer Button.
Understanding BA Data:
It's important
to note that the magnitude of BA values are relative, hence it would be
inappropriate to compare BA values against an absolute reference point of,
say, zero. Instead, BA data should be viewed relative to neighboring values,
paying particular attention to the direction (up or down) the BA line is
advancing. Multiple consecutive BA advances in the same direction may indicate
an appropriate time to act on the stock, whether it be to buy or sell. The
green "BA TAG" Number Spinner is helpful for this purpose, because
it places tags in the chart that mark consecutive advances (and declines)
