ディレクトリー制限 Directory Restrictions
スキャン作業 Scan
Process の際に、アクセスする対象のデータファイルがあるべきドライブやディレクトリーが存在しないという場合が起こります。例として、リムーバブル・ディスク（ＺＩＰやＣＤ-ＲＯＭなど）があり、スキャンを開始した時に接続されていなかった、といった場合です。（データファイルが様々なメディアに保存されていて、それらを全部指定している場合に発生します。）
エクスプレス（高速）･モード Express
Mode であれば出ませんが、その他の検索モードではいちいち下図のようなファイル読み込みエラー警告メッセージが出て、面倒です。
各種の選択肢がありますので、説明します。
●制限をおこなわずにスキャンを継続せよ Continue Scanning with No Restrictions
これを選択すると、次にファイル読み込みができなかった場合、再度同じ警告が出されます。
●制限を行なってスキャンを継続せよ Continue Scanning but Add Restrictions
ここで、ディレクトリーの指定をすると、そのディレクトリーやドライブを避けてスキャンを継続します。下図のウインドウより制限の確認作業を行ないます。
- I made a mistake (re-enter restriction): 間違えたので制限を指定し直します。
- Accept this directory, INCLUDING all subdirectories: このディレクトリーと全てのサブ･ディレクトリーを制限します。
- Accept this directory ONLY: このディレクトリーに限定して制限します。
- Cancel request: 制限を中止します。
ディレクトリー制限をかけても、スキャン･バイ･パス･リスト Scan-By-Path
List からそのディレクトリーが消去されるわけではありません。スキャン作業において指定されたディレクトリーを無視するだけです。そして、新たにスキャン作業を行なう時にはこのディレクトリー制限は外された状態でスキャンが行われます。
●高速モードでスキャンを行なえ Continue Scanning in "Express"
mode
これを選択すると 高速モード Express
mode での検索を行ないます。
●Terminate Scanning Now
スキャン作業を中止せよ。

During
the Scan
Process,
an instance may occur where access to a data file resides in an obsolete
drive and/or directory. A good example are removable storage devices, such
as Zip or CD-ROM disks, that are not in the computer when you start your
scan.
Unless you run your scan in Express Mode, repeatedly getting a load error would
be annoying!
An example: Imagine we were scanning about a dozen file paths, and
four of them targeted Metastock directories on a CD-ROM drive...
D:\MSOTC\OTC1\XMASTER
D:\MSOTC\OTC2\XMASTER
D:\MSOTC\OTC3\XMASTER
D:\MSOTC\OTC4\XMASTER
...and
we inadvertently removed our CD-ROM data disk and have since misplaced it.
The resulting "Load Error" will pop up the window shown above.
It offers the following options:
Continue Scanning with
No Restrictions
This continues
the scan without any changes in the configuration. Any future load errors
will pop up the previous window all over again.
Continue Scanning but
Add Restrictions
To avoid repeated
access to a specific drive/directory for the remainder of the scan, you
can elect to "restrict" access to this directory. A window will
popup, showing the directory where the file load failed. When you confirm
this is to be the "restricted directory", you will be offered
the additional options shown here to the right.
・I made a mistake (re-enter restriction): Allows you to change
which directory you want restricted.
・Accept this directory, INCLUDING all subdirectories: If, we know
that other directories in drive D will fail, then we can prevent this from
happening by shortening our directory restriction to read "D:\",
then selecting this option. This will automatically include all it's subdirectories
in the restriction.
・Accept this directory ONLY: Selecting this option will isolate
the restriction to the specified directory (D:\MSOTC\OTC1) only.
・Cancel request: Returns you to the previous menu (the first figure
shown above).
"Restricting" a directory does not delete it from the Scan-By-Path
List.
It only tells the scan process to ignore it for the current scan. All restrictions
are removed prior to performing a new scan.
Continue Scanning in
"Express" mode
Resumes
scanning, but this time in express mode. Future load errors will no longer
induce any interruptions.
Terminate
Scanning Now
Terminates
the scanning.
