| Direct access to the Quotes Plus (QP2/QP3 only) database is an Insider TA™ Professional feature. Any future versions he produces will not be supported by Stock Blocks, Inc., so we can not guarantee compatibility beyond his current "QP3" edition. There are two ways to load Quotes Plus QP2/QP3 data into Insider TA:
Note: In order to select from a list of Quotes Plus symbols into Insider TA's File Entry Panel, simply load one of the list files that's created from a Quotes Plus scan. One scan provided by Quotes Plus is for gathering all QP symbols. That scan creates a list file named "symbols.lst", which can be loaded into Insider TA's File Entry Panel. List Files are ASCII files that contain a list of ticker symbols (one per line). They reside on your computer's hard drive with the file extension "LST". Quotes Plus provides you with some sample list files in C:\Quotes Plus Data\Lists (in previous QP versions, look in C:\qp2data\Lists). For example, any one of the following list files can be loaded into Insider TA's File Entry Panel:
c:\Quotes Plus Data\lists\sp500.lst c:\Quotes Plus Data\lists\slopeu.lst c:\Quotes Plus Data\lists\newhighs.lst Insider TA's File Entry Panel has a "wizard" option that automatically grabs all of the list files that Quotes Plus provides. Click here for more info. Creating List Files can be done either manually (using a text editor), or automatically (by running a Quotes Plus scan). This latter method is far more efficient!
The File Entry Panel is covered on page 9-2 in the Insider TA Users Manual (8th printing) After the LST file has been entered into the gray Path Menu, you can click it with the mouse. This will reveal all the stored symbols in the File Entry Panel's File Menu, which is the white region on the right side (observe the symbols "A", "AA", "AAB", and so on, in the above figure). Clicking any of these entries will load the Quotes Plus data for that symbol. You can also run Insider TA's
File Scan Utility on list files. Simply
input C:\Quotes Plus Data\lists\MOSTALL.LST into the
File Scan Utility's Scan-By-Path List. More questions? Email us at InsiderTA@stockblocks.com
